Striking a Chord with AI – A Band Name Experiment

In the dynamic heart of our agency, the gears have been turning in ways you might not expect. We’ve been brainstorming, experimenting, and most importantly, playing – yes, you heard that right – with our advanced AI systems.

It’s been like a creative tug-of-war, a thrilling exchange of ideas between human and artificial intelligence, sparking some truly unique concepts. We thought it’s about time we shared a slice of this action, of this exciting journey that’s keeping our synapses firing and the design juices flowing. So, buckle up and join us as we dive into our latest AI-powered escapade.

You know how we love a good challenge at our agency, right? Well, we decided to take on something a little different this time. It wasn’t a client brief or a brainstorming session that sparked this one, but a birthday gift for our 18-year-old kiddo. I know what you’re thinking: “What does an 18-year-old’s birthday gift have to do with a design agency?” Well, keep reading, you’re about to find out!

So, my kid is into some cool bands – Palehound, Field Medic, Jeff Rosenstock, and Slow Pulp. And as a surprise, we got them two tickets to see their favorite bands live at The Masquerade in Atlanta. But instead of just handing over the tickets, we thought it would be fun to make a game out of it.

We tasked our AI with a unique undertaking: to come up with illustrations inspired by each of these band names. The first round of images were, let’s say, interesting. But as we refined our inputs and dug deeper into the vibe and ethos of each band, the AI started to throw us some amazing surprises.

We presented the series of images over birthday breakfast. The guessing game was a hit! It wasn’t easy, but after some pondering and a few wrong guesses, they managed to crack all four. The look on their face was worth all the effort we put in.

Some of the wrong (but hilarious) guesses were:
White Dog — Weird Beagle — Creepy Beagle — Long Neck Beagle — Freakishly Human Eyes — Sexy Photographer Dude — Ooooh He’s Hot — Flower Ramen — Flowers in Broth — Rose Stew — Flower Soup — (they instantly got Slow Pulp)

This exercise was more than just birthday fun though. It was a testament to how far we’ve come in using AI in our design process.

It revealed to us that when we blend our creative thought process, infuse it with an element of fun, and harness the power of AI, we can transform even the most unconventional ideas into visually compelling images.

So, next time you’re in need of a design that’s a bit outside the box, just remember, we’ve got a pretty nifty AI up our sleeves, ready to rock and roll!

That’s all for now, folks! Stay tuned for more tales from our AI and design adventures. Rock on!
