Go Gold Day
Go Gold Day was started by Laura Gilkey, and is an annual kid-powered initiative to raise awareness and support for children facing cancer. The Gilkey family established The Benjamin Gilkey Fund for Innovative Pediatric Cancer Research in conjunction with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and any proceeds earned on Go Gold Day will go to their organization. Laura wanted a fresh, fun, kid-centric brand that appealed to students from grades K-12 – but in keeping with the colors of Johns Hopkins. The website needed to be simple enough for an elementary aged child to use, but robust enough to provide information and resources to schools and parents.
One day. Big change.
Go Gold Day is an annual kid-powered initiative to raise awareness and support for children facing cancer. Celebrated on the last Friday in September, Go Gold Day empowers kids to stand up for and with their peers, to show compassion and empathy, and to be part of the solution: research. Go Gold Day is just one day. But it can create big change.
