Jason Butler
UX/UI Designer, Co-owner
Jason is Biscuit’s co-owner and UX/UI designer. He runs the digital side of the studio, from web design through development.
He came to design the long way. He was born on the Fort Rucker Army base in Alabama, where his dad, back from Vietnam, taught air traffic control and his mom worked as a nurse. He grew up in Lakeland, Florida, close to both sets of grandparents. After earning a degree in environmental horticulture from UF, he grew hydroponic vegetables as a research assistant at The Land at EPCOT and managed a tree farm. He then returned to UF for landscape architecture. As a landscape architect at EDAW, he was on site during construction of Seuss Landing at Universal Orlando. He later joined Cooper Carry in Atlanta, then left to start Biscuit.
Jason taught himself to code. He’s a designer first, but he loves the puzzle of fitting the pieces together. Lately he’s been digging into accessibility, a push that started with their youngest, August, and the work they were doing in college. He’s bringing what he’s learned into every Biscuit site.
Outside work, it’s family first, starting with Lucy. Then close friends and metal, the heavier the better. Give him a burrito, and he’s content. In his words, he’s a decent listener but a better hugger.
